I have been a bargain hunter for a long time now. I scour the web, garage sales, estate sales, antique shops and thrift stores for those diamonds in the rough to transform.
Growing up on a farm in southern Alberta, I found a love for antiques. We were surrounded by vintage furniture, items passed down from generations. I grew up with an appreciation for pieces of fine furniture. My grandparents lived in Edmonton and when I came to visit them I would stare at her ornate tea cups and fine items. I love my grandparents furniture so much that I kept them when they we no longer here and it brings me such joy to see things that belonged to them and my great grandparents.
I love it when I find a diamond in the rough, it is amazing what a bit of paint and some of your time can do. I love to see the best in things - that goes for people too. I am a christian and love to see people find happiness and peace.
I am developing my talents for painting furniture and trying to take my talents and making a home based small business out of this. I am a christian, a mom and wife and take my spare time (what little I have) to make something that someone thought was junk and giving it a new life and a new happy home.
